I need beach!

Well things have been very hectic this summer, if you can call it that, there's been soooooooooooooooooo much rain we hardly got to do any of the usual things we do. Now that the outdoor renovations are FINALLY finished, deck stained and all, we can have our first family bbq with Andy's family this year. We usually do this every year a few times at our various houses although we haven't had any at ours yet.

Andy's mom is flying in tonight to spend a few days with us. She wanted to see Caitlin play soccer and given her condition she hasn't been up to travelling a whole lot this year and now that she can't drive anymore she hasn't been visiting like she normally would every few weeks or so. Now that she'll be here and the deck and stuff is finished, perfect time to have the family over. That same morning Caitlin has her soccer tournament so it's going to be quite a crazy busy day!

Seeing that we haven't been able to do anything this summer for fun and we haven't been away to the beach since bringing Caitlin at 21 months, we're sooooo due! I convinced Andy, wasn't very hard, and booked a week trip down south and am totally psyched! No cooking, cleaning, laundry, work for a whole week! Our anniversary is October 7th so I thought it'd be nice to go then. Caitlin will have to miss school for a week but I really don't think she'll be missing that much in Kindergarden!

I walked the beach collecting shells with Caitlin all day when we went last time and it was fabulous! We were very secluded on a private island in Cayo Guillermo then though so we couldn't do much else. This time we're going closer to town in Varadero and we can go on a day trip to Havana, last time we would have had to fly there. Once again, very psyched! Don't know if I'll be swimming with the dolphins yet, the juries not out on that one yet!
