Monday Madness

Well my blogging was pretty consistant for about a whole week! What can I say, life happens! I wanted to thank my bloggy buds for all of their comments though, I just love reading them and checking out everybody elses blogs to see what's going on when I have the time, or I should say when I make the time! So we had such a busy weekend, Caitlin had her church class on Saturday morning and then a birthday party afterwards and then we went to cousin Mary-Anne's for a "festgivis" get together for Uncle Vitty's 78th birthday. The kiddies had a ball running and playing with their cousins all afternoon and the adults had a nice sugar rush happening after all the desert goodies!

Getting back to the birthday for Caitlin's school buddy on Saturday though...I need to paint a picture of the scene though because I still can't get over what happened to us! The party was at one of our local grocerye stores, they have a party room upstairs. Maddie most always tags along with us and most of the time is invited since most moms know that Caitie has a little sister and Andy works a lot of weekends so I don't usually have the option to not bring her. Anyhow, seeing as it was in the grocery store and I felt comfortable leaving Caitlin since I knew this mom, and it was the perfect opportunity to get some grocery shopping done since I had to do ours as well as my grandmother's.

So we strolled around the store for a little over two hours if you can believe that, we had our meat cut, checked out the lobsters, the girls love to watch them in the tank, and stocked up on a lot of specials. Then...the anticipated, yet always dreaded, "Mommy I have to go pee", just as we only have two aisles left to do, followed by my usual pleas of, "Can it wait just five minutes?", no, of course not! So off to the cashiers we went, where I asked the girl to watch my basket for me while I ran up to the washroom and would be right back.

Two minutes later, literally, we went back down to find no basket, therefore, no groceries which I had just spent two hours gathering!! There are no words to describe my anger. Now, I'm usually good, okay maybe not always, but I try to contain my anger. I just couldn't believe what happened! I had to spend the last half an hour, before going up to get Caitlin, racing around the store trying to get everything all over AGAIN, and of course missing out half the things I really needed at that point. ARRRRGGG!

So I will be calling the grocery store today to make a complaint. I mean there are honest mistakes and sometimes things do get overlooked, but like I really had nothing better to do than go grocery shopping twice in the same day right!? Ladies BEWARE! Don't take your eyes off your basket for a second!

Have a good Monday!

Why would someone want your grocery cart and everything inside? What was someone thinking???

Have a good week!

I'm dumbfounded. Who would have taken a basket full of stuff they didn't pick out? I'm dying to know what the cashier said to you when you asked her. That really stinks!

I wanted to thank you for your sweet comment on my blog today. I copied it below as I didn't have your e-mail.

I'm loving your blog, what an enchanting entry! So cute!

Enjoy your week. (This rain today is just to make everything messy. It'll be cold again soon.)

What the heck?? Did a different cashier thought it wad a return cart? Well that sucks big time! :( Sorry.

Since you said a second floor, was the party at Loblaw? I remember them as having a second floor.

That is so aggrevating.... if grocery shopping isn't bad enough.....you had to do it twice??? YUCK!!

Hope you have a better week!

Well that really sucks. Chances are some of the cashiers can be bozos with short attention spans and lots of distractions. By the way, some of us men have to do groceries too, have kids that demand the pee break, and need to leave our baskets of chosen goods out in the open. So far so good! Jen, your post about Hunter was really touching. I'm thinking of getting a Guinea Pig for the kids for around Easter. A tame and smaller sized pet!
