So the day was off to a great start, well almost since hubby was working the weekend again. Anyhoo, all was well...had my new cleaning lady on Friday, woohoo! Was really happy with the results and left me with a clean house come weekend and lots of free time to do stuff with the girls, goal achieved! So made plans with friends to take the kids to Funtropolis, had lots of fun and got my ass kicked by wicked wavy slides (if anyone remembers Belmont park with the potato sack slides, those are the ones only minus the sacks), only really had to work your way to the top, but quite the adventure.
After nap time, decided to have a crack at face painting (inspired by Tania) only not as artistic, although not too bad for a first try. This is when the fun really started...Caitlin really liked it and stayed still patiently waiting to become a butterfly. Maddie on the other hand, totally not ready yet for face painting and don't know if she ever will be since she never stays still!! I tied her hair up out of her face and tried to make her a really cute mouse face, well, she would have nothing to do with that and once the base was started kept moving like crazy as I was desperatly trying to finish the black outlines, which caused me to make her into, well let's just quote Andy on this one, "a cross between a warrior pygmy and Gene Simmons!" Oh well, so much for trying!!
So seeing the mess had already began, I stripped the girls down to their undies and began the painting adventure...which started off so nice and peacefull watching their creative minds at work and later became my nightmare of the warrior pygmy/Gene Simmons and the butterfly having a tug of war over the paintdish and once in the bath for clean up (Caitie offering oh so sweetly to help clean up by splashing the paint all over the bathroom too, apparently the hallway wasn't enough!) and me down to my underwear and blue handprinted bra hearing the persistent knocking on the door from surprise visitors!
In the end, got some great shots and a great masterpiece for the basement wall!
